Hasbro Supports Operation Smile
One of Operation Smile’s Corporate Smile Ambassadors is the Hasbro Children’s Fund, the charitable giving program of Hasbro, Inc. In April 2006, the Fund selected Operation Smile to receive $450,000 over three years. In addition, the toy company is producing and donating 50,000 Mr. Potato Head plush toys, with a market value of $250,000. The toys will be given to each child who comes for a medical screening at all mission sites during Operation Smile’s World Journey of Smiles in November 2007 and beyond. Mr. Potato Head plush toys will be available through the online store on Operation Smile’s website. Additionally, they will be sold by service organizations and student clubs as fund-raisers. Operation Smile thanks Hasbro for its generous contributions and help in making a difference in the lives of children around the world.
Facts:
• Each plush toy costs $10.00 which goes directly to Operation Smile.
• The toys can be sold for any amount by the organization. For instance, your club could sell Mr. Potato Head for $12.50 and make a $2.50 profit for the club per item.
• There are 25 toys in each box but there is no minimum order.
• The toys can be ordered on consignment and paid for when the funds are realized.
GFWC Illinois International Affairs Chairman Linda Bowlby suggests your club buy some Mr. Potato Head toys and sell them for $???? each. It only takes a case of 25 dolls to pay for one child’s operation. Can your club change the life of one child?
